Framing Nature brings together images and reflections from participants who took part in a project exploring the use of analogue photography in the human-nature connection.
Immersing yourself in natural environments has been shown to improve many measures of psychological wellbeing in humans. But what happens when we use a tool, such as analogue photography, to deepen the connection between nature and us? In this project, each contributor was given a disposable camera and asked to photograph natural environments, as well as provide insights into their psychological state before and after the shoot. The resulting work can be seen in this online exhibition and highlights the connections between mindful creativity, the natural environment, and wellbeing. Explore each individual's story by pressing on the buttons below. We hope this space offers viewers an opportunity to reflect on their own relationship with nature and the act of slowing down through film photography.
